We collect very little.

This website

The site has no cookies, no advertising and no social media buttons. Its fonts and images are served from this site, so your browser doesn't contact Google Fonts or other third parties for them.

To see how many people visit and which pages they read, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It loads a small script from Cloudflare that reports page views. It doesn't use cookies or other storage in your browser, doesn't fingerprint you, and gives us only totals, not a record of you. See how Cloudflare describes it. The referral sign-up pages don't load it.

The site saves two small notes in your browser's local storage: your choice of light or dark mode, if you use the switch at the top of the page, and, if the site shows you an offer pop-up, that you've seen it, so it doesn't appear again. These notes stay on your device and aren't sent to us.

The site and the download files are hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don't use that information to identify or profile you. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

The Label Bridge app

Label Bridge finds, straightens and prints your labels on your own computer. The labels, and your buyers' names and addresses on them, are not sent to us or to any online service. You don't need an account.

Your licence key is checked on your computer, without contacting us. The key itself contains the name and email address you bought with, because that's who it's registered to.

If you use a watched folder in OneDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox, those files are handled by that service under your own account with them. Label Bridge only reads the copy that's synced to your computer.

The AI Hotkey app

When you press your shortcut, AI Hotkey sends the text you highlighted, along with your rewrite instructions, to the AI provider you've chosen, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, OpenRouter or Groq. It uses your own API key. That provider handles your text under its own privacy policy and data terms, which you agreed to when you opened your account with them. For xAI, AI Hotkey asks xAI not to store requests.

If you use Ollama, the AI runs on your own computer and your text never leaves it.

The AI Hotkey page recommends CometAPI through a partner link (?ref=orthic). If you follow it, CometAPI can tell you came from us, and we earn a small commission on what you buy there. We don't learn anything about you from it. CometAPI's own privacy policy covers its site.

AI Hotkey doesn't send your text to us, doesn't store or log it, and has no telemetry or analytics. Your API key is kept in Windows Credential Manager on your computer.

Your license key is checked on your computer, without contacting a license server. Like Label Bridge's, it contains the name and email address you bought with.

Buying our software

Purchases are processed by Stripe, which acts as the reseller (the "merchant of record"). That means Stripe takes the payment, works out sales tax or VAT, and handles refunds and disputes. You enter your payment details on Stripe's checkout page. We never see or store your card number.

From each order, Stripe gives us:

• your name and email address
• your country and the billing details Stripe needs to work out tax
• what you bought, the amount and the tax charged
• your answers to any optional questions at checkout, such as where you found us

We use this to send your licence key, to help you if you contact support, and to keep the business and tax records we're legally required to keep. Stripe's own use of your information is covered by Stripe's privacy policy. If you choose to save your details with Link at checkout, Link's privacy policy also applies.

Emailing us

If you email support, we see your email address and whatever you choose to send, including any files or text samples you attach to help us fix a problem. Email to orthicsoftware.com addresses is forwarded by Cloudflare to our mailbox, which is hosted by Google (see Google's privacy policy).

We only use your emails to answer you and improve our software. If you send a label file or a text sample, we use it only to fix your problem, and we'll delete it when you ask.

Our contact form

If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message. The form emails them to our mailbox (see "Emailing us" above) and doesn't store them on this website. We use them only to answer you. To stop spam, the form also keeps a one-way hash of your IP address for 24 hours in our Cloudflare account; it can't be turned back into your address and is then deleted.

Referral program

If you sign up to refer our software, we receive your name, email address, country, payout account (your PayPal or Wise email), the code you'd like and how you plan to share it. Before your first payment we also ask for a tax form (W-9 or W-8BEN). We use these details only to run the referral program: to review your application, send your code, and pay and record your commission.

Sign-ups are stored in a private database in our Cloudflare account. To stop spam, the sign-up form also keeps a one-way hash of your IP address for 24 hours; it can't be turned back into your address and is then deleted. Payouts are made through PayPal or Wise, under their own privacy policies.

What we don't do

• We don't sell or rent your information.
• We don't share it with advertisers or use it to target ads.
• We don't add you to a mailing list. We'll email you about your purchase, your support request or your referrals, and nothing else.

How long we keep things

We keep order records, and referral payment records and tax forms, for as long as tax and accounting law requires. We keep support emails for as long as they're useful for helping you, and we delete them sooner if you ask.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We'll do so unless the law requires us to keep it, such as tax records of a sale. Depending on where you live, for example the UK, the EU or California, you may have further rights, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

To make a request, email [email protected]. It's a one-person company, so you'll deal with the same person who handles your data.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you've already given us, we'll email customers about it.
